- 9:00 a.m. Bluegrass Festival Ticket Sales - Hotel front entrance.
- 9:00 a.m. GMUG Registration - Regency Ballroom for Ukulele Workshops and Conference Room D for Ukulele Beginner Lesson.
- 9:15-10:15 - Dale and Brenda Moe - Beginner Lesson and Ukulele Loaners - Description - This is for you if you have ever wanted to play ukulele or want a "how to get back on the uke" refresher. In one hour, you will be ready for a day's worth of very doable ukulele workshops and jams! Seriously! And, you will have fun. - Conference Room D.
- Loaner Ukuleles will be in the Regency Ballroom for the rest of the morning and afternoon, and in the Gathering Place (Conference Room E.) for the After Concert Jam.
- 9:15-10:15 a.m. - Ukester Brown - Intermediate+ Barre Chord Intro Workshop - Description - Using one basic shape and playing one fun song. We will be introduced to barre chording and it’s possibilities. Ukester will show barre chord tips and techniques that enable YOU to play barre chords. - Regency Ballroom.
- 10:30-11:30 a.m. - Bill Cagley - All-Festival Beginner+ Jam - Description - Bill is the "Jam Master" at MBOTMA Festivals. His jams are fun, interactive and extremely popular with jammers on all instruments. Year after year, Bill's jam is one of the most popular events at MBOTMA festivals. A fun time is guaranteed! - Regency Ballroom.
- 12:30-1:30 p.m. - Jim Beloff - Taking Your Skills Higher & Higher Workshop - Advanced Beginner+ Workshop - Description - For those who know a handful of chords and a basic up/down strum, here’s a chance to take your skills to a new level. A half dozen or so well-known songs will be played while learning more chords, new fingerings, new strums, transposing on the fly and performance tips and techniques along the way. - Regency Ballroom.
- 2:00-3:00 p.m. - Two Harbors Ukulele Group Workshop - Making Songs More Interesting - Advanced Beginner+ - Description - Two songs. The first is a Christmas medley that folks can bring back to their ukulele groups. The medley features a set of “walk down” barr cords and a combination of male and female vocal parts with counter melodies. The second song is “Drop Baby Drop”. This song features “walk down” barr chords, a different strum pattern, strum stops and also shows what adding an instrumental can do to spice up a song. - Regency Ballroom.
- 3:30-4:30 p.m. - Jim Beloff - Jazzing Up The Ukulele Workshop - Intermediate+ - Description - How to use chord substitutions to “jazz up” a simple 4 or 5 chord song. Based on the 2015 Flea Market Music book. We’ll also play through several Lyle Ritz classic jazz arrangements. - Regency Ballroom.
- 6:00 p.m. - Jim Beloff Concert - Regency Ballroom.
- 7:00 p.m. - Two Harbors Ukulele Group Concert - Regency Ballroom.
- 8:30-9:30 p.m. - Jim Beloff Beatles Jam - Description - An hour of strumming through a bunch of Beatles songs with periodic stops to extol the songwriting genius of the Liverpool lads and a bit of history behind each song. Also the story about the day George Harrison came to Jim's house. - Gathering Place (Conference Room E)
