WHAT? - GIGS = Casual Performances - Our audiences appreciate our presence and enthusiasm. They don’t expect professional performers. We focus on fun entertainment with Twin Cities Ukulele Club members playing and singing basic familiar songs. Players will most often sit and use music stands. We keep the songs familiar, simple and fun for our giggers and audiences!

WHO? - Gig participation is voluntary and the gigs are perfect for ALL skill levels. All Twin Cities Ukulele Club players are welcome to sing and play at our gigs. BTW - A willingness to "sing out" is important for those who participate.

PRACTICE SESSIONS? - YES - While we use songs that we routinely play at our jams, formal and separate practice sessions are important to assure a quality performance for our audiences.

SONGS USED? - We use songs we routinely sing at jams. NO special arrangements. Gig songs will only be from the Yellow and Blue books (or the baritone versions), and the Dropbox 1A ALL SONGS folder that is available to all Twin Cities Ukulele Club members. We will also play and sing a limited number of songs requested by the gig location. We most often sit and use music and music stands at gigs. We are a group of enthusiastic ukulele players and singers sharing our joy of music, the fun of ukuleles and songs we sing all the time at our jams. Most important, our audiences love the casual and fun nature of our gigs.

WHO COORDINATES OUR GIGS? - Our Twin Cities Ukulele Club Coordinators, are in charge of where, when, what, and how many gigs we are going to do. If you know of a place that would like a Twin Cities Ukulele Club Gig, let one of our Gig Coordinators know. The Gig Coordinators are:
  • In the northeast Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, contact Debbie at [email protected] or Mary Jo at [email protected].
  • In the rest of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, contact Michelle Ehlers at [email protected].
They will contact those who ask about gigs to see what they have in mind, and if appropriate, commit to the event.

HOW WILL YOU KNOW ABOUT THE GIGS? - Once the event is scheduled, we will let our entire Twin Cities Ukulele Club email list know. Those interested will respond to the Gig Leader, and they will share the gig details with those who are interested.

WHO LEADS OUR GIGS? - Twin Cities Ukulele Club experienced Gig Leaders.

Why do we Gig? Because . . .
