What is a Jam - Jam sessions are often used by musicians as a social gathering and communal practice session. Jam sessions may be based upon existing songs, and jams are often loose gatherings of amateurs who get together to play music.  Jams are fun times to play music with others.

The UkeAmericana Jams - These are jams, not lessons or workshops.  However, the uke is so easy to play that even if you have never played before, we’ll show you simple chords to get you playing along right away.

UkeAmericana Music in this jam is from the traditions that make up the American musical ethos; specifically those sounds that are merged from folk, cowboy, country, rock and blues.

When and Where - Beginning January 14, 2021 - Every Thursday of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kenwood Park Community Center, 2101 Franklin Ave. W, Minneapolis, MN 55405. At the north end of Lake of the Isles. You must pre-register for the entire January through March 2012 time period. Maximum pre-registrations of 12 per 3 month session period.

Who - The jam emphasis will be on ukulele.  This jam is geared for adult and mature teen beginners to advanced uke players.  This UkeAmericana jam is free and open to the public.

What - A moderate paced Ukulele Americana Jam led by Twin Cities Ukulele Club jam leaders. The jam focus will be on helping all jammers feel welcome and part of the jam - from the beginning.

Resources for UkeAmericana Jams - We will use the following as our sources of jam songs.  Hardcopy versions of these books are available at our Wednesday and Friday jam sites and online. The first three books are also available as ebooks for tablets, like the iPad. NOTE - If you want to put the ebook tablet versions on your tablet, do NOT buy the hardcover versions, or you will have to pay again for the ebook tablet versions.
