* The workshops and jam at Kenwood will show Stu over a Zoom connection. Stu will not be at the Kenwood site. We will see and interact with him using the Zoom conferencing computer program.

Cost - $40 for a 2 hour Workshop and 30 minute Concert. All funds collected will go to the workshop leader.

In this two part workshop you'll learn three beautiful pieces of music you can play on your own or with your jamming friends — you’ll also explore improvising with the pentatonic scale!
You’ll learn a surprisingly simple formula for improvising that will open up your ability to solo creatively!
You can attend live, OR study afterwards as many times as you like with the workshop recording - emailed to you 4 days after the workshop.
Stu will ALSO show you how to improve your ukulele music making by applying techniques of yoga, breathwork, mindfulness…and just being playfulness!
As you learn songs, you’ll be guided with nourishing practices to improve your ukulele skills, cultivate more relaxed hands and a clear mind.
The practices Stu will be sharing are his own unique methods that he’s used for over thirty years of music study and professional performance around the world.

This workshop is open to ALL LEVELS of player, beginner to advanced and offers something for any level of playing ability.
NOTE: We’re all beginners to our next step. Experienced players can certainly benefit from cultivating the “Beginner’s Mind”. Some basic experience on the ukulele is recommended.

- A PDF booklet with songs and tablature for GCEA and Baritone tuned ukuleles
- An edited recording of the entire session for ALL WHO REGISTER (delivered after the workshop)
- A 30 minute concert set by Stu!

Stu Fuchs is a lifelong musician, award-winning teaching artist blending mindfulness practice and creative play. As a celebrated teacher on the “Ukulele Circuit”, he has presented his unique ukulele workshops and concerts at festivals around the world for over ten years. Stu’s YouTube channel “Ukulele Zen” offers holistic ukulele lessons to over 110,000 subscribers.
Stu is deeply committed to sharing music as a method for meditation and healing. He was awarded a prestigious grant from the National Endowment for the Arts for his work offering healing music and meditative arts activities to cancer patients at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo NY, where he was a professional artist in residence for eight years.
In his workshops and retreats Stu blends playful, heart centered music instruction with accessible practices from yoga and mindfulness. His Ukulele Zen workshops and retreats create a very relaxed atmosphere where players can develop their skills and learn powerful practices that can streamline the learning process, creating a soul satisfying music practice.
Stu has a varied background with over 25 years as a professional in the arts. He has performed theater, improvised music, classical and gypsy jazz guitar — his former band “Babik” was featured on Public Radio International and performed with symphony orchestras.
Stu recorded and toured the world with renowned sacred chant artist Snatam Kaur, playing on her 2018 “Best New Age” Grammy award nominated album “Beloved”.
