Twin Cities Ukulele Club Stance on Health Issues
- The Twin Cities Ukulele Club Advisory Committee will continue to review the Covid situation and will revise our policies as we feel changes are appropriate.
- We will take reasonable precautions to maximize the safety of our Twin Cities Ukulele Club members.
- The health and safety of our event leaders and participants is our top priority.
- We strongly believe it is better to err on the side of safety. It is better to be safe than sorry.
- We base our policies on information from the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Minnesota Health Department.
Jam Conditions Following a Positive Covid Test Result
Before attending a Twin Cities Ukulele Club jam after a Covid exposure, jammers who were exposed must meet the following conditions at all Twin Cities Ukulele Club jams. These conditions will be in effect for all future Covid exposures at Twin Cities Ukulele Club jams.
1. Experience no symptoms
2. Have a negative Covid test result
3. Wear a mask at the jam
4. Outdoor Jams — Twin Cities Ukulele Club outdoor jams require six foot spacing between jammers if a jammer(s) at the event was exposed to Covid. While we strongly recommend conditions 1, 2 and 3 for attending all jams after an exposure to Covid, outdoor jams may bring less risk of Covid transmission. However, there is still a risk.
These conditions meet the the Minnesota Health Department recommendations.

Masking and Attendance for In-Person Jams
The Twin Cities Ukulele Club attendance and masking policies.
The Twin Cities Ukulele Club attendance and masking policies.
- Do not attend an in-person jam or event if you are feeling ill or have a known exposure.
- While the policy in the following paragraph is the Twin Cities Ukulele Club policy, no jammer has asked for all to wear masks for a number of months.
- Masks are optional - Jammers will wear masks only if one of the jammers asks for all in the jam to wear masks. Some of our Twin Cities Ukulele Club jammers have health conditions that elevate the risk of Covid. We will continue to err on the side of caution to help protect all of our members. If you want masks to be worn, you may advise the jam leader at the jam, or send an email before a jam to [email protected]. Leaders will do their best to respect your wish that your request for masking be kept confidential.
- If a jammer is unable to wear a mask for medical reasons, they may attend a jam as long as they are willing to distance by at least 6 feet. Other location policies and requirements will remain in effect.
- All jammers will wear a mask if required by the jam location.

Masking and Singing - As of June 30, 2021, the Minnesota Department of Health says the following on their website. — Singing and instrumental music produced by woodwind or brass instruments are thought to be higher-risk activities for COVID-19 spread due to the aggressive expelling of respiratory droplets. This can result in aerosols that can hang in the air for hours. It is important to take extra precautions when participating in musical activities, especially if they involve vocalists and wind instrument musicians who are not yet vaccinated. -- https://www.health.state.mn.us/diseases/coronavirus/musicguide.pdf
Proof of Vaccination or Negative Covid Test
Proof of Vaccination - The Twin Cities Ukulele Club strongly suggests, but does not require proof of full vaccination or a negative Covid test. This also applies to event visitors.
