2nd & 4th Fridays at Cadenza Music

What is a Jam? - Jam sessions are often used by musicians as a social gathering and communal practice session. Jams are fun times to play music with others.

The Friday Morning Jams - These are not lessons.  However, the uke is so easy to play that even if you have never played before, we’ll show you simple chords to get you playing along right away.

Who - The jam emphasis will be on ukulele.  This jam is geared for adult and mature teen beginners to advanced uke players, with an emphasis on keeping things simple so all can participate right from the beginning. Friday Morning jams are free and open to the public.

What - Moderate paced ukulele jams led by Twin Cities Ukulele Club Leaders. The jam focus will be on helping all jammers feel welcome and part of the jam - from the beginning.

Cost - There is no charge for the jam at Cadenza Music. The Minnesota Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (MVUUF) charges TCUC a small amount to use their facility. Jammers are asked for an equally small amount at these jams - just a few dollars. We welcome jammers for whom money is tight. If you can kick in a few dollars, great! If not, we still want you to attend this jam!

Because of a generous gift in memory of our friend ukulele player Don Venne, we have a great projector and screen. Thanks Mary Rose!

Important Fine Print - We use the Daily Ukulele Yellow and Blue books, and the baritone versions of these books at most of our Twin Cities Ukulele Club jams. And, we show the songs in these books on a screen at many jams. In order to show the contents of these books on a screen at a jam, jammers must have their own copies of the print or digital/ebook versions of the Yellow and Blue books or the baritone equivalents. Click here to see information about these song books, and see #5 - Music/Song Books.

Need help playing the uke?  Never played a uke and want to get a head start - before the jam?  The Daily Ukulele "Yellow Book" has a good "how to" section at the beginning of the book - available at the Groth jam site.
