The Two Harbors Ukulele Group (T.H.U.G.) Ensemble was formed about twelve years ago by Al Anderson. He recruited some members for the Two Harbors Ukulele Group and it grew from there. The Two Harbors Ukulele Group now performs approximately 40 times a year from as far south as Lanesboro, Minnesota to the Naniboujou Lodge near the Canadian border. Their music ranges from the 1920's to present...quite a variety. They like to say they are the only ukulele group in Minnesota to perform music by Frank Zappa.

Annie Savage
Annie is hailed as a "firecracker educator and entertainer." She is an international string clinician and performer of American Roots music.
No Depression says of Annie, "she sees her mission as 'total world domination through vibrating wooden boxes'..." |
A prize-winning contest fiddler from the age of eight, Annie has performed with a range of artists from Aretha Franklin to Ricky Skaggs. She was a founding member of the band Jeff Scroggins and Colorado, in tandem serving as president of the Colorado Bluegrass Music Association in the Colorado's Front Range and taking the roots music world by storm.
She teaches The Free-Strings Method (www.free-strings.com), her curriculum for group improvisation at schools, conferences and festivals. Annie served as a Beginner 101 instructor at Steve Kaufman's Acoustic Kamp for many years. She taught many stringed instrument beginners at the same time in a single class. Annie’s primary goal is to help bring a pragmatic approach to jamming and improvising that is joyful and serves as a away for all folks to enjoy a lifetime of music making.
[Tony's comment - Wow! As a fellow Kamp Kaufman instructor and Kamp Jam Leader, I saw her teach beginner fiddle, banjo, guitar and mandolin in a single week-long class with great success. Very impressive!]
